Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 3, 2026

1. Overview

Pitchside is operated by Diego Yepez, based in Colorado, USA. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We are committed to being transparent and to protecting your privacy.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run the platform, we do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.

2. Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address — used for account authentication and platform communications
  • Username and display name — used to identify you on the platform
  • Password — stored as a secure hash, never in plain text

When you use the platform, we collect:

  • Card data — the cards, sets, parallels, grades, and notes you submit to your portfolio
  • Acquired price — if you choose to record what you paid for a card, this is stored privately and never shown to other users
  • Bug reports — if you submit a bug report, we store your description and the page you were on

If you join the waitlist without creating an account, we collect your email address only.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain the Pitchside platform
  • Authenticate your account and maintain your session
  • Display your portfolio to you and, where you have made it public, to other users
  • Review and approve card submissions for the catalog
  • Send platform updates and announcements to waitlist members (infrequently and only when relevant)
  • Respond to bug reports and support requests

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your data with third parties except as necessary to operate the platform (see Section 5).

4. What is public vs private

The following information is publicly visible on your profile page:

  • Your username and display name
  • Your card portfolio (set name, player, parallel, grade, condition)
  • Your member since date

The following is private and never shown to other users:

  • Your email address
  • What you paid for a card (acquired price)
  • Your personal card notes
  • Your password

5. Third-party services

Pitchside uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Neon — our database provider. Your data is stored on Neon's PostgreSQL infrastructure. Neon Privacy Policy
  • Vercel — our hosting provider. Your requests pass through Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel Privacy Policy
  • Better Auth — our authentication library. Session data is stored in our own database, not on third-party auth servers.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party advertising or tracking services.

6. Cookies

Pitchside uses one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you logged in. This is a functional cookie required for the platform to work. It is not used for tracking or advertising purposes.

We do not use third-party cookies. We do not use cookies to track your behavior across other websites.

7. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data (email, username, display name, card notes, and acquired prices) within 30 days. Card catalog data that has been approved and added to the canonical catalog may be retained in anonymized form as part of the catalog record.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Withdraw consent to any optional data processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in Section 10.

9. Children

Pitchside is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the platform. Your continued use of Pitchside after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
